On June 30th I'm riding 100 miles from Redmond to Bellingham, WA - hence Red-Bell 100 - to raise funds and awareness for two organizations.

1) World Bicycle Relief is a global nonprofit organization providing access to independence and livelihood through The Power of Bicycles.  This organization will give bikes to children in Africa allowing them to get around more easily, go to school, etc.

2) Cascade Bicycle Club Education Foundation provides Washington youth with bicycle safety and maintenance education.  Bicycle safety is close to my heart as I have seen Naomi and Noah bike to school, and having biked in Seattle a lot myself.  When I organized a bike camp for a group of 6-10 year olds last year I realized how little children know and understand about biking safely in traffic.  Not only will it teach them to bike in traffic but hopefully also reduce the amount of driving they will do when being older, reducing the carbon footprint.

By supporting me you will help fund the provision of bicycles for African students in desperate need of transportation to school as well as critical bicycle safety training for Seattle-area youth.

Thanks for your support.

Markus
