The Power of Bicycles April World Awareness

This bike is life changing.

Many of us recall fond memories of riding bicycles, unaware of the importance this form of transportation has for children and adults in other parts of the world. Did you know millions of people in Africa and elsewhere spend hours each day walking to reach clean drinking water, education, health care, and jobs? The energy, time, and safety issues involved in walking these necessary distances are difficult and deadly. Bicycles are a simple, sustainable solution to this transportation crisis.

World Bicycle Relief is working currently to provide specially-designed, locally-assembled bicycles as necessary means of transportation to students (70% girls), teachers and educational workers in rural Zambia and Zimbabwe.
