Teen Cyclist Leads Inspired Rides
Cycling has become a passion for 16 year old Clarity Huddleston. Culminating in a cross-country ride from Georgia to Los Angeles in the summer of 2012, Clarity's love for cycling has taken on new heights, and now she's ready to share it. And who better to share it with than eager middle school students, looking for fun and ready to learn! That's why Clarity started Inspired Rides, a summer cycling camp in Wallingford, Connecticut that will encourage kids to enjoy biking while providing World Bicycle Relief bikes to students in rural Africa.
Inspired Rides encourages kids to discover the joys of cycling in a fun, safe, and positive environment. Focusing on bike and traffic safety as well as nutrition, kids are empowered to develop healthy and active lifelong habits. Inspired Rides offers five weeks of local cycling adventures. Each week is custom fit to match the ability of participating students, from beginner to advanced. Clarity suggests that young friends coordinate and book their week of Inspired Riding together so they can enjoy the training as a group.
"I’m excited about Inspired Rides because I think that the camp will make a difference where it’s needed the most. Inspired Rides is important because it connects what we’re doing at home with what is happening in other countries, and motivates kids to get outside and initiate change."
An experienced cyclist spending her summer teaching middle school students about bikes--awesome! What's even more impressive is that Clarity is hosting these camps completely for the cause--100% of the profits will be donated to WBR! In addition, participants are encouraged to make a suggested donation.
We can't say enough good things about Clarity's commitment to the Power of Bicycles--in her own backyard and around the globe!
