Team World Bicycle Relief: Holly Erickson
Holly Erickson of Park City, Utah is the newest member of Team World Bicycle Relief! Training for the IRONMAN Tahoe in just a few short weeks on September 22, Holly has been advancing the Power of Bicycles through her efforts in both training and fundraising. Knowing that, while she has access to amazing gear and equipment to run, swim, and ride for sport, many throughout the world can't even access it for their basic needs. With that knowledge, she was inspired to contribute to a greater good.
Ever since studying abroad in Kenya in 2003, Holly has dreamed about how to continue to incorporate what she saw and learned there in her present day life. Upon seeing WBR information in a bike shop, she looked up the organization and on the same day made her first donation!
Holly is also dedicating her triathlon to her former training partner, Meghan Arnold, who lost her life in an accident last winter.
Inspired by her favorite quote, In this world, there is no force equal to the strength of a determined woman, Holly expresses, "I am bound and determined to make a different in this world by being true to myself.
Holly has already made strides toward her $5,000 fundraising goal by raffling off a $1,100 bronze sculpture donated by the art gallery where she is employed.
WBR thanks you for your support, Holly! Good luck with the IRONMAN Tahoe!
