Intelligentsia Coffee: Pouring for the Power of Bicycles
Intelligentsia Coffee, which originated in Chicago and then spread to L.A. and New York City, is a favorite among coffee-lovers throughout the country. From their stylish pour over coffeebars to their fully-stocked online shop, Intelligentsia Coffee is roasting, pouring and providing some of the best beans around. And now, they’re doing it for the Power of Bicycles in two major ways.
Coffee lovers can now support World Bicycle Relief through purchasing Intelligentsia’s Ethiopian Yirgacheffe beans. Through July 21, Intelligentsia will donate $2 from each bag sold to WBR.
Also this week, Intelligentsia is sponsoring the Prairie State Cycling Series to benefit WBR. The races run in eight cities across Wisconsin and Illinois from July 12-21, and attract racers from across the country. Intelligentsia Coffee founder Doug Zell says, "We are thrilled to be bringing some of the best pro and amateur riders from around the US and world to race around Chicago. We look forward to showcasing what this great city has to offer and delivering some blazingly fast races that will captivate even the most discerning spectator. We are excited to see great coffee in the mix with bike racing, not just at the start or finish of a training ride, but as a genuine supporter of what promises to be a premier series, the Intelligentsia Cup, in the United States."
World Bicycle Relief is proud to be the recipient of Intelligentsia’s generosity via these two events.
